About the project

The rebranding, the new website, and now the archive: these are the projects that demonstrate the strength of the collaboration between Cantiere Creativo and Oriente Occidente, one of the most renowned dance festivals in Europe.

Thanks to the calendar plugin, Oriente Occidente can schedule the publication of website pages and content such as events, artist profiles, and news for reservations. This is particularly useful during the festival planning period, as well as for the editorial calendar of the communication plan.

The use of the web preview plugin within Dato allows the editorial team of Oriente Occidente to check, in real time, the changes to pages by displaying a preview of each page in the sidebar next to the content editing area, thus verifying how it will appear once published. This enables them to confirm, both in staging and production, whether the layout and content formatting meet expectations.

For the Archive section, massive imports of media and content have been carried out; the festival has a history of over forty years! During the import of images, mostly photos of contemporary dance performances, we used an Artificial Intelligence service for the generation of "Alt Text."

Furthermore, we have also added the corresponding plugin on Dato CMS to be able to use it on some of the images pre-dating the import.

Oriente Occidente sells workshops, which are often divided into multiple parts with different periods and costs. A dedicated section has been created for the reservation form, allowing users to select their preferred session from the available options and obtain the link for the corresponding payment.

The customized modeling also includes the structure related to the archive. In this perspective, everything is organized by year and by festival. This allows us to view the history of the festivals over the years and display the contents on a timeline as well.
