This was a large project to completely redesign their website. The original site, although a single domain, operated more like a multisite project, with landing pages that made the offering feel like four different projects. The user journey was confused, and whilst traffic was high due to the strength of their brand, conversion rates were poor and bounce rates were high. The old website felt very dated visually and complex and inconsistent navigation and URL structure created a very poor user experience. The frontend of the old website was predominantly hand coded and custom build using C sharp. We completely redesigned the frontend, with a modern look and feel to appeal to schools with a bright and dynamic brand that would appeal to young people. The worked hard to completely redefine the information architecture of the site to ensure their 4 sub-brands felt cohesive and consistent. Building the frontend in NextJS we were able to build a brand new, modern frontend that would work with DatoCMS. The biggest challenges were dealing with a huge amount of content and data, and being able to organise this logically for the customer. We also had to integrate their quote and enquiry forms with a 3rd party platform called Creatio. This presented a number of challenges due to the multistep form process, to ensure that not allow would data be captured in Creatio, but that campaign tracking could track all UTM data from every step in the form. This was a complex and challenging project but the outcome has been a huge success and Halsbury have raised their profile further within the Education Travel space and had recognition from within the industry for their bold new website. The internal team love working with DatoCMS, and are delighted with the results.
